WeMop

Privacy policy

Last changed on 7 October 2026

WeMop is a home-cleaning app and this website. This page says which personal data we handle, why, and what you can do about it. In short: we collect as little as we can, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who is responsible

Ana Carina Fernandes Rodrigues, in Portugal, runs WeMop and is the controller of the data described here. For anything on this page, write to support@wemop.app.

On this website

  • No cookies, no analytics, no advertising. The language you choose is remembered in your own browser and is not sent to us. If you arrive through one of our own links (for example from our Instagram page), your browser also remembers which link it was.
  • Hosting. The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and browser details for a short time to send you the page and to stop attacks. We do not use them to identify you.
  • The “tell me when it’s out” list. If you leave your email address, we keep it with the language of the page, the date and, if you came through one of our links, which link it was (so we know where people hear about WeMop). We use it for one thing: to write to you when WeMop is available. The legal basis is your consent. We delete the list within 30 days of sending that message, and you can leave earlier at any time by writing to support@wemop.app.
  • Email. When you write to us, we keep your message and your address to answer you, for up to two years.

In the app

The app is not in the stores yet. This section describes how it works, test versions included.

Without an account

Your homes, rooms, tasks and cleaning history stay on your phone. We do not receive them.

With an account

To share a home, or to use it on more than one phone, you create an account. We then keep:

  • your email address and a password, which is stored only in protected (hashed) form;
  • the name you choose to show in a home;
  • your homes: rooms, furniture, tasks, time estimates, schedules, turns, who did what and when, and points;
  • who belongs to each home and with which permissions, and the invitations you create.

We use this to provide the app to you and to the people you share a home with (performance of a contract). The people in the same home can see your name and what you ticked there. Nobody else can.

Usage statistics

To find problems and to see what is used, the app sends counts of screens opened and actions taken, together with the app version, the phone’s system, the language and whether the plan is free or Plus. It also sends the text of errors. These carry a random number created on your phone, which is not linked to your account, and never names or anything you typed. We keep them for 180 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working. You can switch statistics off at any time, on the first screen or in Settings.

Reminders

Reminders are created on your phone. We do not send them and do not know when they appear.

Payments

Plus is not on sale yet. When it is, payment will be handled by the store you use (Google Play or the App Store) or by a payment provider. We will receive only whether your subscription is active, never your card details. This page will be updated before then.

Advertising

There are no ads in the app today. If the free plan shows ads one day, this page will change first, and you will be asked for your choice where the law requires it.

Who handles data for us

  • Supabase keeps the accounts, the homes and the waiting list, on servers in the European Union (Ireland).
  • Cloudflare delivers this website and forwards the email sent to our addresses.
  • Google provides the mailbox where that email arrives.

These companies act on our instructions. All three are based in the United States; where data may be reached from outside the European Economic Area, it is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law obliges us to.

How long we keep it

  • Account and homes: until you delete your account. Deletion takes effect at once; copies in backups disappear within 30 days.
  • A home you share passes to the people who stay in it when you leave.
  • Waiting list: until 30 days after the launch message, or until you ask to leave.
  • Usage statistics: 180 days.
  • Email: up to two years.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a format you can take elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to support@wemop.app; we answer within one month. You can delete your account yourself in the app: see Delete your account.

You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority: in Portugal, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt), or the authority of the country where you live.

Children

WeMop is made for adults who run a household. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

Data travels encrypted between your phone and our servers. Each home can be read only by the people who belong to it, and passwords are never stored in readable form. No system is perfectly safe: if something goes wrong that puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authority, as the law requires.

Changes

When this page changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
